Despite its important subject matter, an often overlooked awareness day took place on September 8th. National Literacy Day has the goal of highlighting the importance of literacy for people all around the world.
Hundreds of millions around the world lack basic literary skills, and through the efforts of many organizations, writers, and communities, there has been a concerted effort to try and bring this number down.
